Awarenes Of Human Papiloma Virus(HPV) In Women

Women need more awareness about their health and negative susceptibilities they face such as cervical cancer. The cervix is located at the top of uterus  between the ovums and the fallopian tubes. From the years of 1955 and 1992,cervical cancer was the leading cancerous killer of women.

However it has since experience  a 74 percent reduction rate in deaths due to an increase of pap tests that consist of a pelvic exam gynecologist who extracts cells out of the cervix for anatomization for any abnormalities in the cellular structures that can detect the cancer even before it formulates.
This permits the cancerous cells to be arrested with proper treatment.Cervical cancer is  induced after a female has contracted the human papilloma virus(HPV) during sexually contact with an infected partner. There are over 200 papilloma virus strains. One common case causes genital warts in the shape of a white cauliflower. Another strain causes skin warts usually on the hands or feet.

Both can only be removed with a salicyclic acid compound that can be purchased at any drug store. If this compound is inaffective cryosurgery may be necessary.Out of all 200  papillom virus strains only 15 of them are known to heighten the cervical cancer threat.

HPV Vaccination
To decrease your risk factor for HPV,practice safe sex,get a pap test done yearly and get  vaccinated because it defends the body against cervical cancer caused by four different HPV strains.
There are two HPV vaccines available to protect against the types of HPV that cause most cervical cancers. Both vaccines are usually given as a 3 shot series. Clinical trials and post-licensure monitoring data show that both vaccines are safe.
Based on information available today, CDC continues to recommend HPV vaccination for the prevention of most types of cervical cancer. As with all approved vaccines, CDC and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) do continue to monitor the safety of HPV vaccines.Any problems which is detected with these vaccines will be reported to the health officials, health care providers, and the public. Needed action are being taken to ensure the public’s health and safety.
Gardasil: Was first FDA licensed  in 2006. Gardasil is recommended for 11- and 12 year-old girls, and also females 13 through 26-year-old who were not previously vaccinated. It  is also recommended for 9- through 26- year-old males to protect against some genital warts. The safety of Gardasil was studied in clinical trials with over 29,000 females and males before it was licensed. This vaccine protects females against HPV types 6, 11, 16, and 18.
Cervarix:The second vaccination to be FDA licensed in 2009. This vaccine is recommended for females 10 through 25 years of age. The safety of Cervarix was studied in clinical trials with over 30,000 females before it was licensed. Cervarix protects females against HPV types 16 and 18.
Although, vaccination for HPV exist, its not absolutely necessary especially for the women who exceed the approved age because yearly pap smear test is sufficient at detection and cancer prevention.
